Who we are
At Rope and Rotor, we bring a wealth of experience in rope access, inspection, and maintenance — now combined with cutting-edge drone technology to deliver complete inspection solutions.
James Gunter adds more than 12 years in the rope access industry, including 4 years of wind turbine inspection and blade repair, as well as extensive work onshore in power stations, steel mills, and construction projects. For the past 3 years, James has specialised as an offshore rope access NDT inspector within the oil and gas sector. Alongside this, he is a keen drone operator, bringing the same level of detail and professionalism from rope-based inspections into the aerial inspection field.
Mike Burton has over 15 years of rope access experience across bridges, power stations, factories, steel mills, and construction sites. Specialising in detailed inspections, roof repairs, and general maintenance, Mike has built his career on reliability and precision. His lifelong passion for climbing translates into an expert approach to safe and efficient access in even the most challenging environments.
Together, we provide comprehensive inspection services tailored to client needs — from close visual inspections and maintenance works to full inspection reporting, formulated in line with client specifications and industry standards. By combining rope access expertise with drone technology, we offer versatile, safe, and cost-effective solutions for onshore and offshore projects alike. Based in Sheffield and working nationwide, we pride ourselves on delivering accurate insights and clear, professional reports that support effective asset management and informed decision-making.
